A pioneering eco-community for inventors, thinkers, and makers over 50. Accommodation for 40 residents in a sustainable, circular village designed for discovery.
The Scientific Retirement Village is a concept community for people over the age of 50 who refuse to let curiosity fade. Here, retirement is not an ending — it is a liberation. Free from professional obligations, residents have the time, space, and community to pursue the scientific questions and inventions that have always fascinated them.
Inspired by the circular, modular village designs of One Community Global, our village accommodates 40 residents in eco-sustainable dwellings arranged around a central garden courtyard — a living laboratory where science and nature are inseparable.
Fully equipped laboratories, maker spaces, and workshops where residents pursue their scientific passions and bring ideas to life.
A circular, eco-designed village built with natural materials — straw bale, timber, and earth — powered by renewable energy.
A community of 40 like-minded individuals who share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and celebrate each other's discoveries.
Because the best science happens when curiosity is unleashed. Gardens, studios, and open spaces designed for joyful exploration.
Inspired by One Community Global's modular village architecture, the Scientific Retirement Village is arranged in a circular torus — private dwellings surrounding a shared central garden, laboratory, and social space. Everything is within a short walk.

"The circular design creates a natural community heart."

"A space that inspires as much as it shelters."
Each of the 40 private dwellings is constructed using natural straw bale and timber, providing exceptional thermal insulation and a warm, organic aesthetic. Every unit features a skylight, personal study space, and direct access to the central village gardens.
Compact, beautifully designed single-level studio with loft sleeping area. Ideal for solo residents.
Larger unit with a separate study room and expanded workshop nook. For those who need more space to create.
Fully accessible single-level design with wider doorways and adapted facilities.
Six dedicated communal spaces give residents access to professional-grade equipment across science, engineering, arts, and research. Every space is open to all residents, every day.

"The best laboratory is one that feels like home."
Our workshop spaces blend professional capability with artisanal warmth.
Fully equipped wet lab with microscopes, chemistry benches, specimen storage, and biological research facilities.
Soldering stations, oscilloscopes, microcontrollers, 3D printers, laser cutters, and a full suite of maker tools.
Woodworking, metalworking, and general fabrication tools for building prototypes and bringing inventions to life.
A curated library of scientific journals, technical references, and digital databases with quiet reading spaces.
Because science and art are inseparable. Painting, sculpture, illustration, and design tools available to all.
An outdoor observation platform with telescopes and a dark-sky policy for stargazing and astronomical research.
The Scientific Retirement Village is not just a place to live — it is a living, breathing intellectual community. With 40 residents drawn from careers in science, engineering, medicine, education, and the arts, every conversation is an opportunity to learn something new.

Every Friday evening, residents share their current projects, discoveries, and experiments with the community.
Informal lectures, skill-sharing workshops, and mentorship between residents with diverse expertise.
Communal dining, garden therapy, meditation spaces, and a culture of mutual care and support.
Regular visits from schools, universities, and researchers who come to learn from our resident inventors.

Our central courtyard garden doubles as a scientific research space — with botanical experiments, pollinator habitats, weather monitoring, and composting systems all managed collaboratively by residents.
The greatest discoveries are made by those who never stop asking why.
— The founding philosophy of the Scientific Retirement Village
We are currently accepting expressions of interest for residency at the Scientific Retirement Village. Whether you are a scientist, engineer, artist, educator, or simply a lifelong learner — if you are over 50 and driven by curiosity, we want to hear from you.
"Forty places. Forty stories. One extraordinary community."
